Course Description:
Art IV is a continued in-depth study of those areas previously covered in Art I, II and III. This course may have honors versions and, thus, be coded as an honors course and weighted accordingly. This course may be offered as honors; however students may only recieve credit for two honors courses in the area of visual arts. Please see your art teacher. Honors visual arts IV is an even more advanced level of honors visual arts III and involves addtional in-depth knowledge of art processes, media, history and the development of such. In addtion, students are expected to become inniators of learning and accomplishment, as well as demonstrate leadership and expertise in visual arts. Since it is a more advanced level course, it will follow honors visual arts III.
Evaluation/ Grading:
Art Projects: 50%
Daily Grade: 20% *Effort, work habits, attitude, bringing supplies, on time, and clean up.
Sketchbook Assignments: 20% *If you choose to do no sketchbook work, your grade will be NO higher than a C.
Self-Evaluation and Critiques: 10%

Sketchbook Requirements:
Students will be required to turn in 1 sketchbook assignment every Wednesday. You have the opportunity to choose what to draw or you may use the weekly prompt.
Every sketch must be completely value shaded or colored and must fill the page to receive an A. *If none are turned in you will receive a 0.
Each student will be given 3 "No Sketchbook Passes" to be used when not turning in a sketchbook. It is the student's responsibility to keep up with and hand them in.
Be sure to bring your Sketchbook to class everyday. Time will be allowed for you to work on the assignments.~!

Make up Work:
Only students that have an excused absence will have the opportunity to make up class work or art projects.
